E-News from the SC Arts Commission

9/25/2007

Hello everyone,

The Arts Commission is heading into fall with a new logo and a reason to celebrate: a 40th anniversary.  We’re revisiting the past while revving up for the future – still spry after four decades.  One of the biggest anniversary “parties” will occur in Feb., when the National Symphony Orchestra arrives for a week-long residency. Oct. 1 is a popular date for deadlines, so please take note.

NEW LOGO UNVEILED
After more than 30 years, the South Carolina Arts Commission has a new logo! The Commission unveiled the logo Sept. 10 during the 40th anniversary kick off at the Statewide Arts Conference. During the anniversary year (September 2007 - June 2008) individuals, organizations and grantees are asked to join in the celebration by using the new logo and the tagline, "Marking 40 years and moving forward!"  Statewide Arts Conference attendees received a 40th anniversary tool kit containing various logo formats and guidelines. The logos and guidelines are also available here.  Please help us track 40th anniversary activities by sharing copies of any printed materials or links to Web pages where the logo appears. Send samples or links to Milly Hough ,  S.C. Arts Commission, 1800 Gervais St., Columbia, SC 29201.

Demonstrate the impact of public support for the arts to your audiences, members, patrons and community leaders by celebrating the Arts Commission’s connection to your community. Find out how to participate by visiting the 40th anniversary section for a list of anniversary activities, celebration ideas, and sample documents.  And stay tuned for more details!
