COLUMBIA, S.C. – The S.C. Arts Commission is extending Part II of The State Art Collection: Contemporary Conversations through Dec. 13 to offer visitors more time to see an assemblage of artwork rarely displayed in one gallery. The exhibition is on display at the 701 Center for Contemporary Art, located at 701 Whaley Street in Columbia.

Part II of Contemporary Conversations, which was curated by Eleanor Heartney, author and contributing editor to Art in America and Artpress, includes nearly 60 pieces of artwork by 47 contemporary artists. Heartney selected the pieces from the State Art Collection, which is generally on loan in smaller exhibitions to state museums, agencies and organizations.

For more information about the exhibition, please call Harriett Green, program director for visual arts, at (803) 734-8696.
